About Geoffrey O'Brien

 

Sport has always been my biggest passion. Ever since I can remember I have been heavily involved in sport, watching, playing or coaching. My passion has evolved into a love for helping other people achieve big things not only in sport, but in life. And getting your Health and Fitness levels in order is the way to achieve that.

 

I pride myself on the way which I channel my passion and knowledge into getting the results my clients want and deserve. I have helped people change their lives for the better and there is nothing more rewarding than that. 

 

My journey into this industry was driven by my passion for all things sport and fitness. I have always had the desire to know why and how things happen and work. This led me to study the subject extensively. After college I went off to the University of Gloucestershire to study Sports Science vastly expanding my knowledge of why and how.

 

While at University I was heavily involved in many sports teams (mainly Football, Rugby and Karting) eventually leading to me becoming club captain and running the training session. I think started being asked to train team mates individually. When I left University I continued to do that with my local Football Team and Family. Then it dawned on me, "why don't I do this for a living?"

 

So now I do. I topped up my Degree with the Level 2 Gym Instruction and  Level 3 Personal Training Qualifications and have never looked back.

Favourite Bit of Fitness Kit - Has to also be the ViPR, I have yet to train someone who dislikes it.

 

Favourite Exercises - Full Body Exercises including movement. The hard ones!

 

Favourite Food - Meat! If I wasn't a Personal Trainer I would be a chef so that I can make up meaty dishes to cook.

Fitness Pet Peeves - Bad Personal Trainers giving the good ones a bad name. We don't shout at you and "beast" you like you see on The Biggest Loser. Well unless you ask us to ;)

My priority is to personally ensure my clients achieve their goals and I make sure I’m with them every step of the way.  I love seeing the results and personal gains my clients make, not just with regards to weight loss and fitness but also in the personal transformations made with self-esteem and confidence.

 

I’m extremely passionate about Nutrition and have extensive knowledge on eating for optimal health and feeling fantastic. Optimal Health is paramount but I know losing weight is a big consideration for many these days, I prefer to call it burning fat! 

 

My own journey into this industry was driven by being diagnosed with Cancer several years ago after extensive surgery I had needed well over a year’s worth of rehabilitation which I undertook with the help of Personal Training, the benefits I gained were incredible and inspired me to re-train and inspire others!
